Welcome to the Junior Years Learning Community

At St. Brendan's Primary School, our Junior Years Learning Community is a vibrant and exciting place where our youngest learners in Foundation, Year 1, and Year 2 thrive! With seven dynamic classes, we create a nurturing environment where students engage in a wide range of learning experiences that are both fun and educational.

In the Junior Years, students participate in InitialLit and Ochre Maths, which provide a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. They also explore our Source of Life Religious Education lessons and dive into Inquiry-Based Learning, encouraging them to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop a love for learning.

Throughout the year, our students take part in exciting incursions and excursions on a three-year cycle, bringing learning to life with hands-on experiences outside the classroom. These opportunities are designed to spark curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

A key focus in the Junior Years is fostering Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships. Through dedicated lessons and activities, students in Foundation to Year 2 learn how to navigate their emotions, build positive relationships with peers, and understand the importance of respect and empathy. These skills are essential in helping them become confident, kind, and responsible individuals, both in the classroom and beyond.

We also have a fantastic 1:2 iPad program, ensuring that students have access to technology that supports their learning in creative and interactive ways.

The Junior Years at St. Brendan’s is a place where every child is encouraged to explore, grow, and develop their skills in a safe and engaging environment. We are excited to see each of our students reach their full potential as they embark on their learning journey!
